DEEP — 20K Deployment

Begun in 2014, DEEP is an oyster and marine conservation project delivered through a partnership between Glenmorangie, which has provided seed funding, Heriot-Watt University through research and field work led by Dr Bill Sanderson, and the Marine Conservation Society, which delivers community engagement, communications support and advocacy.

From the beginning our team has been working closely with the DEEP partnership to create and capture assets for use online and for delivery to broadcasters. Over the last 8 years BrightWolf director Magnus Wake, alongside specialist natural history film crews, has followed the story closely working with Hamish Torrie from The Glenmorangie Company to help tell the story of this amazing feat.

The latest material was captured following the deployment of twenty thousand native European oysters into the Dornoch Firth. That material has now been used in multiple films and has also featured in news programmes around the world including for CNN, National Geographic and the BBC.
